Since the day Barry and I were married on May 31, 1991, we have had a dream and a passion to impart to people what we have learned, from our failures and successes, about friendship, the marriage relationship, and intimacy, including intimacy with God.

Then in May of 2004 the Spirit of the Lord stirred this longing in our hearts and showed us, "It is time." I immediately began to write about intimacy and soon a critical part of the birth of our dream became the publication of this book. In it Barry and I transparently share the innermost thoughts, struggles and breakthroughs in our own journey toward intimate closeness with the Lord and with each other.

It has changed me to write each chapter. There are places in my heart and spirit where I am freer. In many ways, I realize that I will never look at God in quite the same way again. Now my prayer is that "A Journey Toward Intimacy" can help many men and women enter into a greater freedom in their own intimacy with the Lord, and in their intimacy with those they love.

I can’t even begin to tell you how this book has overwhelmed me with the Lord’s presence. I am sitting here with tears rolling down my cheeks as I finish reading it.
